Welding Qualification Services
Our welding team is certified to perform work across a wide range of materials and processes. All qualifications are carried out in accordance with NAVSEA Technical Publications, ASME Section IX, and AWS D1.1 standards, ensuring compliance for both government and commercial projects.
Qualified Materials
Stainless Steel (CRES): 304/316 series, duplex grades for high-pressure and potable water systems
Carbon Steel: Seamless and welded pipe, structural plate and framing
Copper-Nickel: 70/30 and 90/10 for seawater service, firemain, and cooling systems
Aluminum: Marine-grade alloys for lightweight structures and piping
Titanium: Specialized procedures for piping, plates, and system components
Bimetals: Dissimilar metal welding using controlled techniques to prevent galvanic corrosion
Qualified Processes
GTAW (TIG): High-quality pipe and thin-wall welding, especially for stainless steel, titanium, and CuNi
GMAW (MIG): Structural welding and aluminum fabrication
SMAW (Stick): General structural and heavy repair applications
FCAW (Flux Core): Structural steel and fabrication projects requiring high deposition rates
Brazing: For thin-wall tubing and joining of dissimilar metals (copper, brass, stainless)
Pipe Welding Range
Capable of welding pipe diameters from 2” to 10”
High-pressure and low-pressure systems (P1 and P2 classifications)
Welding performed in all positions (1G–6G) with certified welders
Testing & Documentation
WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) established and approved
PQRs (Procedure Qualification Records) maintained for all qualified processes
Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ/WQTR) documented and traceable
Welds inspected through VT, NDT (RT, PT, MT), and hydro/pneumatic pressure testing as required
Applications
Navy and MSC ship repair (hull, bulkhead, piping, foundations)
Commercial vessel repairs and retrofits
Offshore and industrial piping systems
Custom fabrication requiring certified quality standards.
